Folio introduce PUR

The installation of a Muller Martini PUR Pre melt and wheel in glue tank allows us to offer PUR as well as all the conventional forms of paperback binding.

The Teflon coated tank can be pre heated and wheeled in and out of position effortlessly and is another step to offering the complete service.

Winner of Printing World Awards

Our winning entry was a brochure for the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage.

49,000 copies were printed, spread over 6 languages. The book was made up of 50 text pages, all spot UV varnished, incorporating 5 throw out sections, gathered, thread sewn, and bound with a flush foredge finish.

The production process required us utilising many of the services we offer. From die cutting, folding, glueing throw out sections, insetting 4pp's & 6pp's to make sections for sewing, gathering, thread sewing and finally binding & trimming.

July 2005: New Muller Martini Bravo Plus

Installation of new 4 station plus cover feed Muller Martini Bravo Plus with Amrys.

This machine replaces an 11 year old Muller Martini 321 line and facilitates auto make readies and job information storage and archive, enabling us for straight forward products to make machines ready in a quarter of the time, break into larger runs to accomodate a smaller production requirement, thus retaining flexibility.

May 2005: New Stahl Flexomailer

Installation of New T94 Stahl flexomailer with "blow & plough" & "card tipper" facilities.

This machine replaces an 8 year old T78 flexomailer. It gives us a wider width capability, from 78cm to 94cm. The new install also comes with a "blow and plough" section to re-open folded work for glue application and then re seal.

It also has a card tipping unit for tipping on cards or other items onto a product before or after finishing. The machine also has a 112cm wide vacummatic table for appying inkjetting and card tipping.

The TD56 replaces a 14 year old T66 folding machine and is one of the first new purchases we have ever made.
